What we're all about

The Air Cadets benefit from the support and guidance of the Royal Air Force, but we're not a recruiting agency for them.

We are here to help you to develop important skills, and to offer opportunities and experiences that'll last your lifetime.

Commandant Air Cadets

We’re a mature organisation and have been developing the skills of young people since 1941 - that’s over 70 years. We share many of the regulations of the Royal Air Force, like our uniform procedures, but also their expertise and assets.

There’s over 950 squadrons throughout the United Kingdom, with 20 in our North East Scotland Wing, so you’ll never have to travel far to join in. To make our organisation run smoothly, we have thousands of adult staff, ranging from parent volunteers, to full time officers and the Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty.

Our website displays the main activities which we offer, but the best way to find out more is to see for yourself at one of our squadrons.
